For the third issue of Vs. Magazine, which hits the streets world-wide beginning of August 2007, I photographed Swedish lead singer Nina Persson of The Cardigans. It was shot on the streets of New York City’s Meatpacking District. Vs. Magazine is a large format fashion magazine rooted in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was founded in 2006 and I had the pleasure of being the founding photographic director on the first three issues.

July 31st, 2007Nokia Trends Mobjam
July 6th, 2007For the last couple of weeks we have been working nonstop at BOLA to create and design Nokia’s Mobjam events. The event will take place 11th July 2007 in in a huge penthouse loft in central São Paulo. The theme of the event is Music Soul which is a visualization of how people experience the music. A sound and motion reactive panel is projected behind the two DJs, showing the energy of their behavior and the music they are playing. In the other end of the room we’re showing an example of information design. Nokia’s youth campaign is “Connected Through Music”. People would send a SMS with their names and their favourite bands. Then, we traced the connection between the guests through the bands they like and organized everything on a four meters high, reactive panel. We’ve taken the information design a bit further on this other example.

Moving into our new office
May 10th, 2007BOLA Sociology Design is up and running. It has been in the making for two years. Today, the workers are wrapping up and we’re moving into our new office in central São Paulo. It’s located on the edge between Itaim Bibi and Jardins and has a balcony with a amazing view.
BOLA Sociology Design is a multidisciplinary research and development consulting firm specializing in communication and language innovation. Based in São Paulo, it brings together sociologists, anthropologists, semioticians, planners, designers and artists from several countries and fields of study to analyse design consumption and develop culturally meaningful aesthetic solutions. BOLA is a BOX1824 company.
I’ll be working here as photographic director and photographer. Planning to stay here until the company is well up and running, meaning a year or so, before continuing to wherever new challenges might lead me.

Moving to São Paulo
March 3rd, 2007So, the time has come to move to Brazil. The whole last week I worked hard to finish all the projects I was working on, packing my stuff and close everything down in Copenhagen. Arrived to São Paulo a few days ago and moved into the apartment I’m renting the first month. It’s a old 24th floor penthouse apartment located in downtown São Paulo. Attaching a picture of the view from my window. São Paulo is an big, big city. Unofficially, 20 million people are living here. If you love burning hot concrete, tropical rain and traffic chaos, this is the place to be.
